RCA Dock-Mate App for iPad^®, iPhone^® and iPod touch^®

Overview of Dock-Mate Features.

    Dock-Mate provides you access to tens of thousands of online SHOUTcast™ Radio Stations, live local weather data from WeatherBug® and allows you to store your SHOUTcast stations, FM radio stations and Podcasts as Favorites (presets) for convenient access.
    Dock-Mate allows you to control your Dock-Mate-ready RCA Sound System directly from Dock-Mate. You can tune an FM station on your RCA Sound System, adjust the Sound System’s EQ Presets, set the Sound System’s time and alarm settings – all with Dock-Mate.
    You have a large range of “skins” and display colors to choose from – allowing you to customize Dock-Mate for the “look” you like best. Dock-Mate also allows you to use your own photos as a “screen saver”.

Basic Navigation.

    Every Dock-Mate screen contains a “menu bar” containing icons at the bottom of the screen:

“Home” – “SHOUTcast” – “Radio” – “Podcasts” – “Favorites” – “Settings”

     Just tap the desired icon to bring you to that feature’s screen.
    Most screens have a “Home” or “Back” icon in the top-left corner of the screen – you can use this to “back up” to a previous screen.
    The Home Screen has a Weather Conditions icon in the top-right corner of the screen – just tap this to get current, local WeatherBug data.

Settings.

Auto Launch.
    Setting this to “ON” will cause Dock-Mate to automatically start whenever you dock your iPod / iPhone / iPad.

Time Auto Sync.
    This allows Dock-Mate to synchronize your RCA Sound System’s clock to the clock on your iPod / iPhone / iPad. We strongly recommend you leave this setting “ON”.

Home Screen Settings.
    Dock-Mate can be customized to a wide variety of “looks” - just pick the one you like best. We provide a choice of eight different “Background Skins” – these change the look of the screen’s background. There are also three “Display Colors” – these change the primary or dominant color used on the screens. Note that some “skin” options have a pre-defined, fixed “Display Color”.
 
Screen Saver.
    If Screen Saver is set to “OFF”, the Home Screen will always show the current time and currently-playing audio content (SHOUTcast™ station, Podcast or FM station).
    If Screen Saver is set to “ON”, the Home Screen will show either “Flying Boxes” (visual effects) or “Picture Frame” (a slide-show of your photos, or a single photo that you choose) after a period of inactivity.
    You can select whether you want “Flying Boxes” or “Picture Frame” to be used as your Screen Saver.

Alarms.
    Dock-Mate allows you to manage two Alarms that are built into your RCA Sound System. Thus, Dock-Mate allows you to see and manage the RCA Sound System’s Alarms. Each Alarm can be configured for:

Weekday wakeup time
Weekend wakeup time
Source (iPod, Radio, Buzzer)
Wakeup volume

    You can of course enable or disable already-configured Alarms using Dock-Mate.
Note: since you’re configuring Alarms that are built into the RCA Sound System – the Alarms will be active even if you remove your iPod / iPhone / iPad.
Note: if you want to disable the RCA Sound System’s Alarms and you don’t have your iPod / iPhone / iPad available, you can disable the Alarms by simultaneously pressing the “VOL-” and “v” buttons on the RCA Sound System for at least three seconds. The RCA Sound System will “chirp” to indicate Alarms have been disabled.

WeatherBug®.

   To access live, local weather data from WeatherBug, tap the Weather Conditions icon in the top-right corner of the Home Screen. You’ll see a Radar Map, along with Conditions and Forecast data – you can tap either the Conditions or Forecast data to bring up a more detailed view of either.
   Tapping the Options icon in the top-right corner of the WeatherBug screen will allow you to choose different ranges for the Radar Map, the interval at which Dock-Mate receives WeatherBug weather updates, and allow you to either have Dock-Mate automatically provide you with your actual location's weather data or provide weather data for a location that you manually choose.

SHOUTcast™ Radio.

    SHOUTcast™ Radio offers thousands of free Internet radio stations from DJs and broadcasters around the world. Just tap the SHOUTcast™ icon on the bottom of your screen - you can then choose a station by Genre/Subgenre, or you can search for a particular station using the Search feature located in top-right corner of the SHOUTcast™ navigation screens.
    The Options settings (located at top of screen) allow you filter stations by audio quality (bit rate) and/or by popularity (number of listeners).
    Once you’ve picked a station you can assign it to your “Favorites” presets if you like (press the “Add to Favorites” icon at the top of the screen). You also have the option to go back to the Dock-Mate Home Screen – your SHOUTcast™ station will continue to play. You can also pause playback at any time by pressing the PLAY-PAUSE icon.

FM Radio.

    Dock-Mate allows you to control the FM radio in your RCA Sound System - just press the Radio icon on the bottom of your screen. Repeatedly tap the << or >> icon to select a particular FM frequency. You can “search” to next available station by pressing and holding the << or >> icon and then releasing the icon.
    The “Skins” icon located on top-right corner of screen allows you to “skin” the radio as “Retro” or “Modern”.
Once you’ve picked a station, you can assign it to your “Favorites” presets if you like (tap the “Add to Favorites” icon on the screen). You have the option to go back to the Dock-Mate Home Screen – your FM station will continue to play. You can also mute playback at any time by pressing the PLAY-PAUSE icon.

Podcasts.

    Dock-Mate allows you to select and play any audio Podcast on your iPod / iPhone / iPad. You can also assign a Podcast to a "Favorites" preset - this will allow you to conveniently listen to the most recent Podcast episode of that Podcast series whenever you select that preset.  To assign a Podcast series to a "Favorites" preset, simply tap the "Add to Favorites" star icon that appears next to the Podcast series name.

Favorites.

    You can assign selected SHOUTcast™ stations, FM stations and Podcasts to Favorites presets for convenient and easy access. Just tap the Favorites icon on the bottom of your screen to access your Favorites presets.

    The SHOUTcast™ Radio Directory is one of the largest directories of professionally and community programmed online radio stations in the world.  Today SHOUTcast™ Radio features over 35,000 music, sports, talk and community programmed stations from around the globe.  You're sure to find something you like on SHOUTcast™ Radio.

    SHOUTcast™ Radio also provides audio broadcasting software tools for those who want to create a radio station.  It permits anyone on the internet to broadcast audio from their computer to listeners across the internet or any other IP-based network (Office LANs, college campuses, etc...).
